Fire crews fought the wind and the flames

Quick work by firefighters prevents deck fire from speading

MEDICINE HAT — Firefighters had to contend with a brisk wind as they were called to a fire on Southlands Boulevard S.E. around midnight.

A deck on the property was burning but the fire crews had a quick knock down of the flames and kept it from spreading.

Two people received medical attention as a result of the fire which remains under investigation.
