Smith’s relief package an attempt to fix problems UCP helped create, says Notley

Opposition NDP Leader Rachel Notley says Premier Danielle Smith and her promises can’t be relied upon.

Notley says the United Conservative Party government is trying to fix some of the problems it helped create.

Political scientist Duane Bratt says Smith was astute to offer aid to those most in need rather than a broad payout.

He says her announcement and Notley’s response show that their parties are gearing up for a provincial election in May.
