One in three Ukrainians with visas have reached Canada as applications approach 700K
OTTAWA — New government statistics show fewer than one-third of Ukrainians approved for temporary Canadian visas have arrived in the country.
The temporary visas are part of the special immigration measures introduced by Ottawa in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
According to the government, immigration officials have approved more than 420,000 of the nearly 700,000 requests received between March and November.
Yet of those that have been approved, only about 117,000 Ukrainians have actually reached Canada.
