Medicine Hat Health Foundation launches ‘It’s our time to give’ campaign

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat Health Foundation is calling on the holiday heroes of the community to help spread goodwill and cheer to those who need it most this holiday season.

The ‘It’s our time to give’ campaign can be supported in multiple ways including purchasing an ornament to be hung on their tribute tree.

Ornaments can be purchased in the hospital’s atrium, and are meant to be hung in memory of a loved one or someone currently fighting their battle.

Monetary donations outside the ornaments are accepted, but the foundation is as well looking for people to commit acts of kindness and post them to #hatforhope2022.

Executive director Heather Bach says their goal this Christmas season is to receive $150,000 in donations, which will be allocated to areas of the hospital that are not often recognized.

“There is a new piece of technology and equipment that our pharmacy department would like,” she says. “People don’t often show up at the hospital and think ‘oh gee I should give to the Pharmacy.’ So this is a way for us to rally donations together in one lump sum, and make those impacts in areas that people don’t normally contribute to.”
