Pregame: Tigers at Blades

Nov 18, 2022 | 11:56 AM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat Tigers hit the road for two games, starting with a stop in Saskatoon to face the Blades.

This is the second of four matchups between the two squads, with the first at Co-Op Place back on Oct. 28.

It was the Blades who came out on top in that one, winning 2-1 in regulation. Both Saskatoon goals were scored by Tyler Parr, and the single Medicine Hat goal was scored by Tyler Mackenzie.

The Tigers come into this one victorious in their last two games, with a 5-1 victory over Moose Jaw and a 6-1 victory over Brandon.

This matchup holds a little extra importance for Medicine Hat as they currently sit in a tie for ninth in the Eastern Conference, with a record of 6-9-3-1. If the Tigers win they would move into a tie for a playoff spot with the Swift Current Broncos.

There are multiple players on the Blades that the Tabbies will need to be wary of. One of those is the team’s top point-getter Trevor Wong.

Wong has 22 points in 18 games this season and is tied for the team lead in goals with eight, tied with Brandon Lisowsky.

Also starring for Saskatoon is defenceman Egor Sidorov, who has 17 points in only seven games.

The Tigers have a pair of surging players of their own, including Brenden Lee who has five points in his last three games.

Andrew Basha, who leads the Tigers in points, has five points in his last five games and 18 points in 19 games overall.

Puck drop will be at 6 p.m. MT from the SaskTel Centre.

You can hear all the action live on Wild 94.5 with voice of the Tigers, Gino De Paoli.
