MEDICINE HAT — Firefighters had to battle the elements and the flames as they responded to a structure fire early last evening.

A post on the Medicine Hat Firefighters Facebook page shows a member pouring water onto the fire from an aerial ladder.

It also says the residents were able to evacuate safely.

The fire was in a single family home at 66 Turner Crescent southeast Medicine Hat.

The call came in at 7:37 pm and fire crews left the scene around midnight.

The fire got into the walls and attic of the home, but firefighters prevented the flames from spreading to other homes in the neighborhood.

No one was injured and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
