Oct 14, 2022 | 4:46 PM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat Tigers close out their road trip tonight against the Spokane Chiefs at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena.

The Tigers head into the game with a 3-3-1 record, currently sitting second in the Central Division and sixth in the Eastern Conference.

Tonight’s game follows the 11-3 dominating performance the Tabbies had over the Tri-City Americans. That game was led by a hat trick from Shane Smith.

Special teams could play a factor in tonight’s tilt as the Tigers with the league’s top power play converting on 33.3 per cent of their chances. On the other side, the Chiefs currently sit at the bottom of the league with a penalty kill percentage of 52.4 per cent.

Tigers forward Brenden Lee is driving that strong percentage for his team and is tied for the league lead in powerplay goals with four. Bogdans Hodass leads all defencemen in the Western Hockey League with 10 points, tallying a point in six of seven games this season.

Spokane comes into tonight with a 2-3-0 record following a loss to the Portland Winterhawks. The Chiefs are fourth in the U.S. Division and eighth in the Western Conference.

Right wing Kooper Gizowski leads the Chiefs with seven points in the young 2022-23 campaign.

Defencemen Mac Gross leads his team with three goals from the back end, good enough for a share of second place in the league among blueliners.

Puck Drops at 8:05 p.m. MT with the pre-game show starting at 7:45 on Wild 94.5 with the voice of the Tigers, Gino De Paoli.
