Confirmed weekly COVID-19 cases up again, two more deaths in city
The number of weekly confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Medicine Hat is yo-yo-ing as summer fades into fall. The number of new cases in the city is above 30 for the second time in two weeks, bookending a drop into the high teens.
The province released the weekly COVID update on Wednesday.
In Medicine Hat, 31 new cases were identified between Sept. 7-13, up from 17 in the previous period. There were two COVID deaths recorded in Medicine Hat, pushing the total to 105 over the course of the pandemic.
During the same period, there were 1,098 cases confirmed province-wide, up slightly from 1,084 in the previous week and 42 COVID deaths. There are 819 COVID inpatients in Alberta hospitals, up from 799. Of the total number of inpatients, 26 of them are in ICU, up from 20 last week.
