MEDICINE HAT, AB – For almost a decade, the Brown Bag Lunch program has been providing nutritious lunches for children in our community.
The program evolved over the past two years to work through public health measures and the food bank’s move to its new building and expansion to become the Root Cellar Food & Wellness Hub. With the new school year underway, volunteers are back in the kitchen this week, a return that couldn’t come at a better time with use of the program up significantly.
Today, the Root Cellar’s executive director Melissa Mullis took a break from making lunches to speak with CHAT News.
