Slither into MH Interpretive Program’s snake sessions

Aug 19, 2022 | 10:46 AM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Snakes aren’t for everyone but Police Point Park is hosting two sessions for those who are fans of the slithery creatures.

The MH Interpretive Program says you can learn about the different species of snakes in the Medicine Hat ecosystem and some very cool snake facts at Sssssssnakes at Police Point Park.

Organizers say the sessions – Aug. 21 at 2 p.m. and Aug. 26 at 7 p.m. – will be an opportunity to ask questions and meet Bandit, a live bull snake.

“Snakes are so important to our unique ecosystems in Medicine Hat and knowledge is key! Please take the time to join and learn what you can to protect our snakes,” they say.

The program will take place outside, so residents are asked to bring a lawn chair.

Bandit will be at the Nature Centre for the next few weeks if you can’t make it to either session.
