Homicide in Brooks, suspect arrested

BROOKS, AB – RCMP have arrested and charged a man after a woman was found dead in Brooks earlier this week.

Brooks RCMP say they responded to a report of an unresponsive female in an apartment complex on Wednesday just after 11:30 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found 30-year-old Tamara Debbie Soosay dead.

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit investigated and RCMP have charged 35-year-old Mat Bangoang Choap of Brooks with second-degree murder.

He is in custody and scheduled to appear in Medicine Hat Provincial Court on Monday, June 27.
