Deborah Belyea, accused in husband’s death, granted bail

MEDICINE HAT, AB — A local woman accused in the death of her husband has been granted bail.

Deborah Belyea, 68, of Suffield was released on payment of cash bail of $15,000.

She will return to court in January 2023 for a preliminary hearing on a charge of second-degree murder and causing an indignity to a human body.

Belyea had been in custody since her arrest last October.

Her husband Alfred was found deceased on Oct. 15. 2021, four days after he was reported missing.
