Excitement for parade and first full Redcliff Days in three years

REDCLIFF, AB – After being cancelled in 2020 and scaled back and pushed back in 2021, Redcliff Days returns to its full glory this year.

“This year we are back to what we’ve always been so we’re super excited about that, says municipal manager Phyllis Forsyth.

She says Redcliff Days is a way for the community to come together and celebrate the town and those who make Redcliff what it is.

The festivities start Friday with sidewalk sales and a youth basketball tournament and end Sunday afternoon with street hockey and free public swimming.

In between, there will be a pancake breakfast, a show and shine and plenty of live music

This year’s celebration is even more special because of the parade.

“It happens only once every five years. So this year they tell me we have 55 entries, the parade route they lineup on First Avenue and then they proceed down Broadway and loop around,” says Forsyth. “We have the Medicine Hat Stampede Queen and princesses the Redcliff Library, Seasar is here with their float, the Legion has a float, there’s a ton of them.”

Sunny skies are in the forecast for Friday and Saturday but rain could dampen the Sunday celebrations a bit.
