Firefighters rescue dog and limit damage in garage fire

MEDICINE HAT — Firefighters from all 3 city stations responded to an alarm about a blaze in a detached garage in northeast Crescent Heights last night.

A neighbor called in the alarm after seeing smoke coming from the eves and hearing a dog whimpering inside the garage.

The residents weren’t home at the time of the fire.

Firefighters limited the damage to about 25 hundred dollars and the dog was placed in the care of the neighbors until the residents returned.

The fire was in the 200 block of Terrace Drive N.E. around 7:17 last night
