June 1 and 2 at the Esplanade

New format for Prairie Rose’s Kaleidoscope of the Arts

May 31, 2022 | 11:49 AM

DUNMORE, AB – That Prairie Rose Public Schools is bringing back its annual celebration of student art isn’t the only thing exciting about this year’s showcase. The 2022 Kaleidoscope of the Arts also has a new format.

The 13th annual event takes place June 1 and 2 at the Esplanade.

The first night will include the traditional art exhibition from 6-9 p.m. along with a silent auction. Students will be there to talk about their work and present it in an exhibit format. The silent auction gives you the chance to purchase the students’ work with all money raised going directly back to the student artists.

The list of participants can be found here: Art Showcase

Starting at 7 p.m. the same night, students from Seven Persons School, Margaret Wooding School, Bow Island Elementary School, Senator Gershaw School, Eagle Butte High School and Parkside Junior High School will perform on the Esplanade main stage. The free show will be about one hour long.

The musical lineup can be found here: Music Showcase

The following day classes from across the division will be transported to the Esplanade for a day of workshops focused on art, FNMI/mixed media, music creation, ukulele and choral. The day will end with a group performance with all students on the main stage of the Esplanade.
