More than $908,000 to be taken from reserves

Prairie Rose Public Schools approves preliminary budget for next term

DUNMORE, AB — Trustees with Prairie Rose Public schools have given approval to the preliminary budget for the 2022-23 school year.

Chief financial officer Ryan Boser is projecting a deficit for the next school year of just over $908,000.

The preliminary budget forecast revenue of $54.147 million, with expenses of just over $55 million.

To make up for the shortfall, the board will draw down money from reserves to balance the budget.
