Alberta promoting province’s hydrogen and gas to the world
Officials with the Alberta government say Associate Minister of Natural Gas and Electricity, Dale Nally, is attending the World Gas Conference to strengthen ties with energy customers in Asia and around the world.
Nally is in Japan and South Korea from May 20-28 to strengthen Alberta’s position in what is said to be one of the world’s fastest-growing energy regions.
Officials say the trip is expected to help establish Alberta natural gas products – including clean hydrogen and liquefied natural gas – as options for energy security and lower emissions.
“Alberta can and should be a global leader in hydrogen and liquefied natural gas,” said Nally. “Canada moved too slowly on the first wave of global LNG investment and now other regions are far more advanced in their global position. It is vitally important to Alberta’s energy future and for global energy security that we build and strengthen access to Asian markets, helping capture a large market share before the window of opportunity closes.”
