Border tips ahead of summer travel season
Many southeastern Alberta residents may head out of the country for the Victoria Day long weekend, or at some other point in the summer travel season.
Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) is reminding all travellers – whether you’re among those returning home or if you’re visiting – of what to expect at the border.
“This summer, travellers are returning to a border that is managed differently, with evolving COVID-19 requirements, which can mean delays during peak periods,’ reads a news release from the agency. “The CBSA is working to mitigate long border wait times, but there are also things that travellers can do to make the process easier for themselves and other travellers.”
One way travellers can help reduce wait times is by being prepared and completing their mandatory ArriveCAN submission within 72 hours before arriving at the border.
