Walk to Cure Diabetes for JDRF this weekend

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Members of the type 1 diabetes community and supporters will be raising money and awareness on Sunday.

The Sun Life Walk to Cure Diabetes for JDRF takes place at Kin Coulee Park beginning at 11 a.m. to help the more than 300,000 Canadians currently living with type 1 diabetes.

Two JDRF ambassadors – Dritan Mack and Addisyn Rodgers – will be at the event to speak to the challenges of living with type 1 diabetes and why fundraising for the walk is so important.

Coun. Ramona Robins will say a few words on behalf of Mayor Linnsie Clark.

Several local food trucks will be on-site and Jack n Jill Parties will be doing glitter tattoos and balloon animals. There will also be face painting.

Parking for the event will be at the City of Medicine Hat parking lot on Kipling Street with easy access to the bandshell in Kin Coulee Park.
