The Medicine Hat Police Service has announced that Police Service Dog Finn passed away yesterday.
Finn served the community with his partner Const. Marc Seiller from 2014-2017.
During Finn’s career, he was deployed 103 times resulting in 29 criminal apprehensions.
Along with his street deployments, in 2014 Finn placed second at the Canadian Police Dog Championships in evidence searching.
In late 2016, Finn was diagnosed with a back injury that resulted in his early retirement and transition to being a family pet. Since that time he was able to camp, walk, play ball and enjoy every day as a member of the Seiller family.
Our heartfelt condolences are extended to Const. Seiller and his family.
More photos of Finn are available on the MHPS Facebook page.
