Coulee Ridge development outlining next steps

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The new Coulee Ridge community development site is outlining its next steps for the future of the community.

An online presentation on the outline plan was made last week. The plan was done to give the city and neighbouring communities insight into what the development has in store in the coming weeks.

Aliesha Kurpjuweit, sales manager and on-site representative for the development, says sales have exceeded expectations, especially coming out of COVID, and that there is potential for affordable housing to be developed for families who are looking to settle in Medicine Hat.

“Coulee Ridge is just a little corner of the ASP (area structure plan) for the Cimarron development,” Kurpjuweit says. “I would imagine there’s definitely plans for that.”

Kurpjuweit says planning continues around the clock as the development expands.

“Every week, we sit and we plan and we watch as the development evolves and different amenities we can add to make the lifestyle out here good for people,” Kurpjuweit says. “We’re working on that all the time, evolving all the time, and over the next five, 10 years, we hope to bring what people want to Medicine Hat.”

An online survey on the outline plan is currently available to all Medicine Hat residents who would like a say on the development. The survey will run until May 19.
