Alberta’s top doctor is providing some clarity for those starting to explore options for a fourth dose in their COVID immunizations.
On Tuesday, Dr. Deena Hinshaw announced on Twitter that there is currently no timeline for expanding eligibility.
Currently, only immunocompromised Albertans 12 years of age and older are eligible for a fourth dose of the vaccine.
The Centres for Disease Control estimates Pfizer and Moderna vaccines lose effectiveness about four months after the initial two-shot dose, or after the third booster.
