Murder charge laid on Siksika Nation

SIKSIKA NATION, AB – A 41-year-old male from Siksika Nation has been charged with second-degree murder.
RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit began investigating following the suspicious death of Mardi Broad Scalplock, 33, of Siksika Nation on Feb. 27.
In a March 12 news release, RCMP say Scalplock’s death was determined to be a homicide after an autopsy was completed on March 2.
The name of the male charged was not released by RCMP. He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Siksika Provincial Court on March 24.
