Smash hosting ringette Open B provincials this weekend

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat Smash Open B ringette team opens its defence of its provincial title on Friday.

The Smash won the provincial title in 2019 and there have been no provincials held since that year.

All games will be played at the Kinplex from March 11-13. The Smash will play Calgary’s FSU (CORA) team at 5:15 p.m. Friday to start the tournament.

“All in all, it is a very talented pool of Open B Teams,” says Mervin Boychuk, Smash head coach. “We look forward to the competition. We feel that Smash will be very competitive and hope to reach the play-offs on Sunday.”

Also in the tournament are St. Albert Stealth, St. Albert Edge, Sherwood Park Rage, Calgary Avalanche, Calgary Edge and Calgary Blaze.
