Chronic pain workshops available in South Zone

Feb 8, 2022 | 12:55 PM

A chronic pain self-management workshop from Alberta Health Services returns later this month.

Beginning on Feb. 16, the free six-week program provides chances for those with chronic conditions or at risk of getting a chronic condition, to learn how to take control of their health and improve their quality of life.

Better Choices, Better Health is suitable for adults 18 and over who have one or more chronic conditions, as well as their family members or caregivers. The program supports participants in making and sustaining lifestyle changes so they can better manage their health and wellbeing.

The two-and-a-half-hour-long online workshops offered via Zoom can be accessed at home on a computer with webcam, iPad, tablet or smartphone.

The workshops are led by AHS health-care staff and volunteer leaders.

The workshops will run from 6-8:30 p.m. on Wednesdays from Feb. 16 to March 23.

South Zone residents can register by calling 403-529-8969 or toll-free 1-866-795-9709 and register under the name Better Choices, Better Health.
