Retired justice to probe Madu phone call
A former Alberta justice will investigate the controversial phone call made by suspended provincial justice minister Kaycee Madu and is to report her findings to the government by Feb. 15.
Retired Court of Queen’s Bench Justice Adele Kent has been tapped to investigate the call made by Madu to Edmonton’s police chief after Madu received a traffic ticket in March of 2021.
The province says Kent’s investigation will determine whether the call constitutes “interference or an attempt to interfere with the administration of justice.”
