RCMP charge Medicine Hat man with murder for January 2020 suspicious death

REDCLIFF, AB – A Medicine Hat man has been charged with murder for a suspicious death from more than two years ago.

On the morning of Jan. 13, 2020, Redcliff RCMP began investigating after a body was found on a rural road south of Medicine Hat and east of Highway 3. Two days later, Jan. 15, chief medical examiner in Calgary determined the death to be a homicide. The victim was identified as a 27-year-old male from Brooks, Alta.

No further details were released at the time and police said they did not believe there was any risk to the public.

Julian Conrad Morris, 32, from Medicine Hat is charged with one count of second-degree murder in the death of Dylan Denault.

Morris is in custody and will next appear in court in Medicine Hat on Jan. 20.
