Cypress County gets close-up in new tourism vid

CYPRESS COUNTY, AB – Medicine Hat may be considered the go-to destination in the area, but Cypress County is hoping to drum up some more tourism with a video of potential highlights in the region.

County officials say attractions to be included in the video are the Hidden Valley Ski Resort, and campgrounds at Cavan Lake and Sandy Point Park.

However, plans are also underway to include some local businesses and events, but which attractions to be included has yet to be finalized.

The video, which will be used as a promotional tool in multiple ways, shouldn’t be longer than two and a half minutes.

“By producing this short video then we would have something that we could put on file that .. councillors and administration staff could present when they attend conferences and workshops in the future,” Jeffery Dowling, director of municipal services for Cypress County said.

He added, “We could also (include the video) of course.. on our social media platforms and our county website and that sort of thing for people to view and take a look at.”

The video is being produced in coordination with Colton McKee Photography, with completion planned for December.

The project`s cost is estimated at about $8,500.
