The Alberta government says it will not follow Quebec in imposing a financial penalty on adults who don’t get vaccinated against COVID-19.
A statement issued by Premier Jason Kenney’s office says Alberta has not considered bringing in any kind of non-compliance vaccine tax.
Quebec Premier Francois Legault announced today that his province will charge a fee to residents without medical exemptions who refuse to get vaccinated – although the amount has not yet been determined.
Kenney was also quick to reject a federal government suggestion last Friday that provinces might have to consider making COVID-19 vaccines mandatory.
