A look at the latest COVID-19 numbers in the province

EDMONTON.AB– Numbers released by the province on Friday show there are 6,257 new cases of COVID-19 and 43,414 active cases province-wide.

There are 504 people in the hospital with 64 in ICU.

Two new deaths were also confirmed. In total there have been 3,338 deaths due to COVID-19.

In Medicine Hat, there are 456 active cases of COVID-19 , 4598 recoveries, and 78 deaths. 82. 6 per cent of Hatters ages 12 and over have received two doses of the vaccine.

Masterpiece Southland Meadows is listed under outbreak status.

In Cypress County, there are 40 active cases, 876 recoveries, and six deaths. 76.3 per cent of residents have received both doses of the vaccine.

The County of Newell has 13 active cases, 521 recoveries, and eight reported deaths.

The city of Brooks has 65 active cases, 2089 recoveries, and 24 deaths.

76.9 per cent of people in Brooks and Newell county have received both doses of vaccine.

In the County of Forty Mile, there are 14 active cases, 340 recoveries and five deaths.

51. 6 per cent of residents have received both doses.

The Municipal District of Taber has 43 active cases, 1295 recoveries and 18 deaths.

58.7 per cent of the population have received both doses.

Taking to Twitter, the province’s chief medical officer of health clarified some information about mask use, and which types of masks are most beneficial.
