LETHBRIDGE, AB – The new year means Alberta Beef Producers (ABP) is preparing a series of zone meetings. ABP Chair Melanie Wowk explains:

Alberta beef producers from all sectors are invited to attend the 2022 ABP producer meetings, running Jan. 24 to Feb. 10. One in-person meeting will take place in each zone, COVID regulations permitting, and there will be a virtual town hall wrap-up meeting that will be held in February.

Wowk outlines the agenda for the zone meetings:

“During the meetings, you can look forward to presentations by myself and ABP general manager Brad Dubeau, an update from the Canadian Cattlemen’s Association and guest speakers. Please join us so that you can meet your local delegate and bring forward resolutions that may shape ABP policy and direction. Have input in putting your producer check-off dollars to work.”

Free advanced registration is encouraged. It can be found at abpdaily.com/events.

The in-person meetings will be required to follow the Alberta restrictions exemption program guidelines, which do include proof of vaccination, negative test results or medical exemption for patrons 12-years of age and older, plus mandatory masking.

All in-person meetings run from 1-5 p.m. with a coffee break, on the following dates:

— Central: Monday, Jan. 24 – Spruce Grove

— Northwest: Wednesday, Jan. 26 – Fairview

— Northeast: Thursday, Jan. 27 – Vermilion

— Southeast: Tuesday, Feb. 8 – Brooks

— Southwest: Wednesday, Feb. 9 – High River

A Virtual Producer Meeting for those unable to attend and an in-person meeting takes place on Thursday, Feb. 10 at 6:30 p.m.
