MEDICINE HAT, AB – More and more Albertans are receiving their third dose of COVID-19 vaccine but the amount they get depends on both the brand given and individual needs.
In a statement from Alberta Health, a booster dose of Moderna for healthy individuals under 65 is half a dose or 0.25 mL. People over 65 or immunocompromised will receive a full dose, or 0.5 mL, as their booster.
For those who receive Pfizer, a booster shot contains a full dose of 0.3 mL, regardless of age or health status.
The booster amounts have been approved by both the National Advisory Committee on Immunization and the Alberta Advisory Committee on Immunization.
