New provincial grant aims to set newcomers up for success

Non-profit organizations in the province that support newcomers who are building a new life in Alberta can apply for Alberta’s Supports for Newcomer Integration grants.

In a news release, the province says that through the grant, organizations will help newcomers access public services such as health and education, learn English and settle into a new life, making Alberta a more diverse and prosperous place.

The deadline for eligible organizations to apply is Jan. 4, 2022. Grant funding will be provided from April 2022 to March 2024, allowing the organizations to plan for consistent services.

Calls for proposal include settlement and community support services, language assessment and referral services, and drop-in English as an additional language services.
