Big Marble Farms becomes new title sponsor for Family Leisure Centre

MEDICINE HAT, AB— The Family Leisure will officially have a new name. At Monday’s Council meeting it was revealed that Big Marble Farms is the new title sponsor for the Family Leisure Centre

Under the agreement, the facility will be named The Big Marble Go Centre.

“It captures everything that goes on in that building, it captures all the energy that is in the branding of it, and it really works well together with the brand of Big Marble as well,” said Big Marble Farms CEO Ryan Cramer.

According to the city, the Family Leisure Centre has never had a title sponsor before. Big Marble Farms began discussions about sponsorship last year when the company underwent a branding change themselves when they merged in with the Red Hat Co-op .

” We know that Red Hat Co-op has done a lot in this community and we want to continue that tradition, and so this affirms our commitment to the city, and the values we have at Big Marble Farms which are active lifestyles, healthy eating, togetherness with family, and just being active,” said vice-president of sales and marketing Jonathan Schow.

Aside from a name change, Schow said Big Marble Farms is working through a plan with the city, that could include making certain activities more accessible to residents.

” One of the things that has been mentioned is some of the New Years parties and Family Day events they still have a cost associated with them. Part of my understanding is this sponsorship will alleviate the costs to families,” Schow said.

The recreation and leisure centre is home to the Kinsmen Aquatic Park, Cenovus Arena, the South Country Co-op fitness centre, an indoor fieldhouse, a multi-purpose gymnasium, and a 20 -court pickleball facility, still under construction.

Signage for the Big Marble Go Centre will be updated in the coming months, according to the city, and a grand opening is expected to occur in the spring.
