Province giving cities money to expand homeless shelter facilities

Medicine Hat is one of several Alberta cities getting money from the province to help protect the homeless this winter.

The provincial government made the announcement in Edmonton this morning.

According to the province, Medicine Hat will receive funds to expand homeless shelter facilities to meet physical distancing requirements.

Money will also support regular meal service, showers, laundry, and connections to social services where possible.
