17 new cases in city since Friday

Active COVID-19 cases up in Medicine Hat and province

There are 64 active cases of COVID-19 in Medicine Hat on Monday.

Medicine Hat has had 4,491 total cases – the 64 active, 4,349 recovered and there have been 78 deaths.

There are 17 new cases in the city since the Friday update and 15 new recoveries.

An AHS spokesperson told CHAT News on Monday that there are currently 59 COVID-19 positive inpatients in the South Zone with 16 of those in the ICU. There are 16 inpatients at Medicine Hat Regional Hospital with 2 in the ICU.

Chinook Regional Hospital has 31 with 14 in the ICU. Cardston Health Centre has three inpatients; Brooks Health Centre, Pincher Creek Health Centre, and Taber Health Centre have two each; and Raymond Health Centre has one.

Among Hatters 12 and over, 84.6 per cent have received at least one dose of vaccine and 79.3 per cent are fully vaccinated.

73.4 per cent of all Hatters have received at least one dose of vaccine at the latest update and 68.9 per cent of Hatters are fully vaccinated.

There are 5,828 active cases in the province, up 83 from the last update Friday, and 321,082 recovered cases in the province, up 968.

Alberta’s total cases from the start of the pandemic is 330,098.

There are 1,068 new cases in the province since the Friday update

There are now 519 Albertans in hospital with COVID-19, 100 of which are in ICU, and 3,188 deaths.

The province completed 21,752 tests since the Friday update.

The positivity rate is about 4.9 per cent.

Alberta has administered 6,717,007 doses of vaccine at the latest update.

Among new cases today, 58.4 per cent are unvaccinated, 3.4 per cent are partially vaccinated and 38.2 per cent are fully vaccinated.

Among current hospitalizations, 69.2 per cent are unvaccinated, 5 per cent are partially vaccinated and 25.8 per cent are fully vaccinated.

Province-wide, 87.8 per cent of Albertans 12 years old and up have received at least one dose of vaccine and 82.2 per cent are fully vaccinated.

Among Alberta’s total population, 74.7 per cent have received at least one dose of vaccine and 69.9 per cent are fully vaccinated.

There are three local outbreaks listed on AHS website.

There are no local schools on Outbreak status. Three schools in Medicine Hat are on Alert status, as well as two in the surrounding area.

There are 521 active cases and 22,010 recovered in the South Zone. The death total in the zone is at 283.

The province-wide reproductive value for the week of Nov. 1-14 is 0.92. It is 1.00 in Calgary Zone, 0.92 in Edmonton Zone and 0.87 in the rest of Alberta.

It’s updated every two weeks. At the last update from Oct. 25-31 the numbers were 0.87 in the province, 0.91 in Calgary Zone, 0.90 in Edmonton Zone and 0.84 in the rest of Alberta.

Cypress County has totaled 845 cases. There are 14 active cases, 825 recovered and six deaths. The latest one-dose vaccination rate for all ages is 65.5 per cent, the two-dose rate is 60.8.

The County of Forty Mile has 342 total cases. There are eight active cases, 329 recovered and there have been five deaths. The latest one-dose vaccination rate for all ages is 40.6 per cent, the two-dose rate is 36.3.

The MD of Taber has 1,273 total cases — 48 active cases, 1,209 recovered and there have been 16 deaths. The latest one-dose vaccination rate for all ages is 47.2 per cent, the two-dose rate is 43.2.

Special Areas No. 2 has 242 total cases – seven active cases, 232 recovered and there have been three deaths.

Brooks has 2,091 total cases — 14 active cases and 2,053 are recovered. Brooks has recorded 24 deaths.

The County of Newell has a total of 498 cases — 31 active cases, 459 recovered and there have been eight deaths. The latest one-dose vaccination rate for all ages is 65.7 per cent, the two-dose rate is 59.4. The Newell numbers include the city of Brooks and part of Special Areas No. 2.

The County of Warner has 779 total cases. There are 29 active cases, 746 are recovered cases and there have been four deaths in the county. The latest one-dose vaccination rate for all ages is 58.8 per cent, the two-dose rate is 53.3.

The City of Lethbridge has a total of 7,063 cases. There are 157 active cases, 6,844 recovered and there have been 62 deaths. Lethbridge County has 1,952 cases, 46 active cases, 1,889 recovered and there have been 19 deaths.

Not all the areas on the vaccination data map match the case count map.

The figures on alberta.ca are “up-to-date as of end of day Nov. 14, 2021.”

Saskatchewan has a total of 79,594 cases, 1,201 considered active. There are 77,497 recovered cases and there have been 896 COVID-19 deaths in the province.
