Interpretive Program ready for snow geese this weekend

Nov 4, 2021 | 10:58 AM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat Interpretive Program says it’s time for the annual snow geese migration spectacle.

“Every year thousands of snow geese and other waterfowl migrate through our rural areas,” reads a release from the program. “For anyone who has not witnessed this magnificent display, it is a must-see experience. And, for those who have, it is something that never fails to amaze.”

On Nov. 7 the program will lead a guided trip to see the birds. On the trip, you are likely to also see Canada and white-fronted geese, tundra swans, ducks, grebes, coots and loons.

Anyone who wants to take the trip should meet at the A&W near the airport at 2 p.m. The group will carpool to a location the geese can be found in large numbers.

The trip may last up to three hours, and participants are advised to bring binoculars and cameras and dress appropriately for the weather.
