Oct 28, 2021 | 4:11 PM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – As winter approaches, there’s been no confirmation on whether or not Hidden Valley Ski Resort will open this season.

In a statement Environment and Parks Alberta says the government is working to advance sustainable partnerships for recreation, conservation and education.

This year, the province has been looking for a private contractor to operate HiddenValley. The request for proposals closed earlier this week.

Alberta Parks is currently reviewing its options for the upcoming season and determining its next steps.

Meanwhile, a change.org petition to keep Hidden Valley Ski Hill open was just launched Thursday afternoon. Medicine Hat retail store, The Boarding House, started it and is looking for 100 signatures.
