Missing Cypress County councillor found dead, wife charged with second-degree murder

SUFFIELD AB- RCMP say missing Cypress County Councillor Alfred Belyea has been found dead.

In a press release statement RCMP confirm His wife, 68-year-old Deborah Belyea has been charged with second-degree murder and causing an indignity to a human body.

“Deborah Belyea, Alfred Belyea’s wife, has been taken in to custody. Following a judicial interim release hearing she has been remanded in custody and is next scheduled to appear on Oct.18, 2021,.” the release states.

RCMP say no further updates or details surrounding the incident will be provided, as it is now before the courts.
