Town Square construction to be finished this fall

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Construction on part of the new downtown revitalization project downtown is on track to be complete this fall.

Town Square, or 603 First St., has been under construction since July 7. The new gateway to downtown will be ready to use this fall.

Chris Perret, director land development with Invest Medicine Hat, says the project is coming along nicely. The space will be used for a food truck alley, market space, and even outdoor public skating.

Perret says some of the finishing touches are coming in the next few weeks.

“The roadwork now is done,” Perret said. “The laying is going to be asphalt, part of the parking lot will be asphalt in the next two to three weeks here and then some of the more finer points of landscaping will take place after that. The shape canopy will go up still this fall.”
