JOLIETTE, Que. — Quebec provincial police say a man is set to appear in court today in connection with the slaying of a mother of five young children.

Andréanne Ouellet, 32, was found unresponsive in a home Monday afternoon in St-Donat, Que., north of Montreal.

Police say she was transported to hospital and died later in the day.

They say a 36-year-old man, from the same community and who knew Ouellet, was arrested in connection with the slaying on Tuesday.

Police say he is expected to appear at the courthouse in Joliette, Que., on charges that have yet to be determined.

They say no children were present at the home where the crime allegedly took place. An autopsy will be performed to identify the cause and circumstances surrounding the death.
