MEDICINE HAT, AB – Medicine Hat’s fire and emergency services technical rescue team will do training exercises at the Saamis Tepee on Sept. 27.

The training scenarios are expected to begin at 9 a.m., according to the City of Medicine Hat. Members of the advance response team will be climbing the tepee and lowering members to the ground.

The area will be open to the public during the training, but visitors will be asked to avoid the immediate training area.

More training exercises will take place on Oct. 4.

The technical rescue team is one of three advance response teams within fire and emergency services, says the city. The team trains regularly and respond to incidents involving elevation rescues, both low and high-angle, as well as confined space rescue.
