Paving at landfill next week likely to cause delays

Sep 23, 2021 | 1:35 PM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Residents will be unable to access certain areas of the city’s landfill on Monday and Tuesday.

Paving work will cut off access to the transfer bins where residents unload general household waste and mattresses.

The City of Medicine Hat says alternative locations for disposal will be provided but unloading will be less convenient and delays can be expected. It’s suggested that patrons with small residential loads of waste to bring to the landfill are encouraged to visit before the end of day Saturday or after Tuesday.

The city adds the main entrance and scale will be open and the route to the active landfill working area will remain accessible to commercial traffic accessing the main waste cell. Access to the household hazardous waste and yard waste/clean wood areas remains open.
