MEDICINE HAT, AB – If you’re looking to make more space in your closet, the Redcliff Youth Centre and Medicine Hat College nursing program are holding a clothing drive.

Part of the college’s nursing school curriculum includes dealing with the population within the community. Which is why the students spend a term working at the Redcliff Youth Centre.

A few years ago, a nursing student brought in clothes for the kids and it was so well received it turned into a clothing drive that grows every year.

Donations can be dropped off at the Redcliff Youth Centre and will be accepted until next Wednesday, September 29.

Nursing student Kimberly Mayer says they’ve already surpassed last years haul.

“We are hoping to collect clothing for youth,” Mayer said. “We’re not restricted on sizes because the youth can take some to their families if they want. It just helps them, especially with the pandemic and the hard times, that has been inflicted on that families.”

Almost 300 kids are registered with the Redcliff Youth Centre. Any clothing left over from the clothing drive is donated to other non profits in our area.
