Boil water advisory issued for Foremost

Aug 25, 2021 | 4:15 PM

FOREMOST, AB – Alberta Health Services has issued a boil water advisory for the Village of Foremost as a precautionary measure.

All residents and businesses are advised to bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute prior to any consumption, including:

  • drinking
  • brushing teeth or rinsing the mouth
  • cleaning raw foods
  • preparing infant formula or juices
  • making ice, etc.

AHS says water used for bathing or washing clothes does not need to be boiled.

“For hand-washing, wash with soap and water and use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer containing more than 60 per cent alcohol after drying your hands,” the release reads.

The AHS release says this advisory will “remain in effect until further notice” in bold lettering.

For more information on Boil Water Advisories and using water safely when an advisory is in place, resources for homeowners and businesses are available here: albertahealthservices.ca/boilwater.

AHS says for any concerns over water quality call HealthLink toll-free at 811.
