Sergeant riding across Prairies to support PTSD program
A military sergeant from Wawanesa, Man. is riding a bicycle 1,000 kilometres from Manitoba to Lethbridge to raise awareness and money to help those dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder through Wounded Warriors Canada and the Support Dog Program.
Sgt. Rob Nederlof rode through Medicine Hat this morning – with an escort from the Medicine Hat Police Service along the way – on The Prairie Thousand ride.
Having seen his share of people suffering from PTSD as a veteran of three tours of duty, Sgt. Nederlof is hoping to raise $5,000 to pay for part of the $15,000 cost of raising and training a PTSD support dog.
