Lineup announced for Stampede Summer Jam on July 28

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat Stampede & Exhibition has added another night of fun to Stampede Week.

The Stampede Summer Jam will take place at the grandstand on Wednesday, July 28. Local duo Mahoney will host and play with friends, with Wichita, Audrey Three, Phoenix, Desperate Measures, Band of Brothers, Derek Hintz, and the Cruisers filling out the lineup.

Trent Roset of Mahoney says it’s all heavy hitters from Medicine Hat, long-time musicians who are going to hit that stage and put on a massive show.

“It’s the biggest show of the year pretty much it’s the best audience we all can get,” he says. “We get to play on that big stage that bands like Alabama and Trooper and Hunter Brothers this year are going to be playing on. So it’s that connection to the really big stage and a bunch of friends and colleagues and that big audience.”

Even with all the great bands on the lineup, one stands out to Roset – Wichita.

“Wichita is a band that came straight I think out of the ’80s. They had all kinds of success throughout Medicine Hat in the ’90s there and they’re coming back and putting things together for an alumni concert if you will,” he says. “That’s a cool experience, seeing these people that we’ve seen growing up now we get to work alongside them.”

Overall, Roset says it’s a non-stop show with musicians from different bands working together, collaborating and intermingling. The musicians look forward to it each year, and Roset says this year will be a bigger deal than normal for the audience as well.

“In my opinion, this is what’s really going to shake loose, get those cobwebs off get us out there and just help us realize that you know we’re all still here and all still ready to have a good time.”

Tickets for the Summer Jam are $10 and go on sale Thursday, July 15 at 10 a.m. They’ll be available at mhstampede.com or by calling 403-527-1234.

Tickets are rush seating.

The gates open at 6 p.m. for the 7 p.m. show

The day after the jam, the pro rodeo will take over the infield for two nights and an afternoon before Hunter Brothers end Stampede Week on July 31.
