VIDEO: Portion of roof removed from Safeway on the Southeast Hill

MEDICINE HAT, AB – if you’re a regular shopper at the Division Avenue Safeway you may have noticed something different about the store in the past few days.

The store has been undergoing renovations inside for the past number of weeks. On Tuesday the triangular portion of the roof above the north doors was removed from the building.

Andrew Hilgendorf videoed the removal and shared this video on YouTube.

He says it took six hours to dislodge it and five minutes to get it from the roof to the ground.
