COVID-19 update: Province reports 127 new cases

MEDICINE HAT, AB– There are 127 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed across the province today, bringing the total number of active cases to 2,170. A total of 116 variant cases have been identified. The province said over the past 24 hours, 5,055 tests have been completed. The provincial positivity rate is 2.5 per cent.

There are 221 people in hospital, including 49 in ICU. Six new deaths were also confirmed.

A total of 3.7 million doses of the vaccine have been administered. 70.4 per cent of eligible Albertans have received at least one dose. The percentage of fully vaccinated Albertans is 27.3 per cent.

In Medicine Hat, there are 22 active cases, 1,215 recoveries and 22 deaths.

57.1 per cent of the eligible population have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

Cypress County has five active cases, 294 recoveries, and one recorded death.

The County of Forty Mile and Taber have zero active cases.

The County of Newell has three active cases, 236 recoveries, and two recorded deaths.

The City of Brooks has seven active cases, 1, 480 recoveries, and 15 recorded deaths.

Lethbridge County has five active cases, 1,239 recoveries, and 12 recorded deaths.

The city of Lethbridge has 11 active cases, 4,783 recoveries, and 39 recorded deaths.
