COVID-19 update: Province confirms 231 new cases, and no deaths Sunday

EDMONTON, AB- There are 231 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed across the province Sunday. The number of new variant cases confirmed was 344.

In total, there are 4,884 active cases province-wide. A total of 5,337 tests were completed over a 24 hour period. The provincial positivity rate is 4.5 percent. There were no new deaths confined on Sunday.

Medicine Hat has 47 active cases, 1,169 recoveries, and 22 deaths. A total of 63.8 per cent of the eligible population has received at least one dose of the vaccine.

Cypress County has 15 active cases, 280 recoveries and no recorded deaths. 53.8 per cent of the eligible population has received at least one dose of the vaccine.

The County of Forty Mile has two active cases, 152 recoveries, and three recorded deaths. The percentage of the eligible population that has received at least one dose of the vaccine is 35 per cent.

Newell County has 21 active cases, 217 recoveries, and two recorded deaths.

The city of Brooks has 17 active cases, 1,462 recoveries, and 15 recorded deaths.

The Municipal District of Taber has six active cases 559 recoveries and six recorded deaths. 41.7 per cent of the eligible population has received at least one dose.

Lethbridge County has 30 active cases, 1208 recoveries and 12 recorded deaths.

The City of Lethbridge has 73 active cases, 4,710 recoveries and 38 deaths.
